Rescue Homes

Isaiah 49:15 "Can a mother forget her baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget you, I will never forget you!"

Casa Havilah

Casa Havilah is a rescue home for girls who are seeking safe haven from abusive situations. The girls that come to the home are searching for an environment in which they can live a life free from abuse, negative influences, and be encouraged by caring individuals. Our vision for Casa Havilah is to provide a sanctuary for abused and neglected girls to escape their depressive circumstances. In providing this escape, we look to the Lord to provide opportunities for us to share His love, of which these girls have been deprived for certainly most, if not all of their lives. Spiritual care and maturity are qualities that Casa Havilah promotes, however, we believe that in order to best promote healthy spirituality, these girls need to experience the love of the Lord in a practical way. We seek to provide this tangible love of the Lord through the safety and security of Casa Havilah. We eagerly desire these wonderful girls to learn of our Lord's sacrifice, His great passion, and His amazing love He has already made available to them. May the Lord be glorified through Casa Havilah and lead these young souls to His arms.

Casa Robles

"Casa Roble" (Oak House) was started in 2008 as a rescue home for abused and abandoned boys from La Chureca.  La Chureca is a community of people in Nicaragua that live in the Managua city dump.  It is a place where children suffer great atrocities.  Not only are their living conditions horrible, having drugs, prostitution, violence and filth always present,  many of the children also suffer physical, sexual and emotional abuse in their homes.

In 2007 Open Hearts opened Casa Havilah as a rescue home for girls and after seeing that the boys were suffering equally in La Chureca we opened Casa Roble.  The purpose of the home is to be a place of refuge for the young boys coming out of abusive homes or who have been abandoned.  Our goal is to give the boys a safe environment to grow in where they don't have to fend for themselves daily, but instead are cared for and loved.  The verse that drives the home and where it got its name is from Isaiah 61 where speaking about the people of Israel it is written "that they might be called Oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.  Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will raise up the former devastations; and they will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations."

Our hope is that the boys in this home will grow in a way that one day they are called "Oaks of Righteosness the planting of the Lord that He m ay be glorified"  And even more that God may use them to restore the devastation of prev ious generations in their own lives and families.  It is an optimistic hope, but one that we are confident God can accomplish in these young boys lives.  All things are possible.

More about Casa Havilah/Robles

The kids who come to the home are accepted only after an interviews have been conducted with the interested child and their guardian, individually and together. By conducting the interview process in this manner, we are more clearly able to determine if a situation is truly abusive and if the interested child is desiring to make such a change in their life.

All of the girls who are in Casa Havilah attend a private Christian school close-by. While at Casa Havilah, the girls are also given the opportunity to develop a hobby or skill that would have previously not been afforded them. At present, we are blessed to be able provide the girls with ballet classes. Casa Havilah is structured in such a way that the girls will be living in an environment that represents a familial setting, as closely as can be done.

*Our monthly operational costs for Casa Havilah are $1,900
*Our monthly operational costs for Casa Robles are $1,000

*Currently the Luo Foundation (www.luo-setfree.org )is partly supporting both these homes by providing the funding for Nutrion, Education and Medical needs. Other funds to meet the operational costs for the homes comes from individuals and fund raising events.
